ABOUT
“Ghost Adventures: Aftershocks”, or for short “Aftershocks”, is a “Ghost Adventures” spin-off, that premiered on the Travel Channel on April 26th 2014 in conjunction with series 9 of the original show. It’s produced and hosted by Zak, helped by Aaron on the set and by Billy and Jay as techs. In this show Zak interviews people he encountered in his previous investigations, figuring out what happened since the Ghost Adventures Crew locked down in that specific location; also, new updates about the hauntings are examined and many things that couldn’t have been deepened before are explained.
Series 3 is currently airing on the Travel Channel.
The opening narrated by Zak goes:
“The last several years, we have explored many locations. We have met hundreds of people... many who have been deeply affected by our investigations. Are these dark spirits still plaguing these places and harming these people? It's time to find out. This is Ghost Adventures: Aftershocks.”

"Ghost Adventures: Aftershocks", o in breve "Aftershocks", è uno spin-off di "Ghost Adventures", il cui episodio pilota è andato in onda il 26 Aprile 2014 su Travel Channel, in concomitanza con la nona stagione della serie originale. E' prodotto e condotto personalmente da Zak, aiutato da Aaron e, nella parte tecnica, da Billy e Jay. Zak si occupa qui di intervistare le persone incontrate nelle precedenti indagini per capire i cambiamenti avvenuti nelle loro vite successivamente al lockdown effettuato dalla GAC; inoltre, in questa sede vengono approfonditi nuovi particolari emersi in seguito e molti aspetti su cui non era stato possibile soffermarsi in precedenza.
La terza serie è attualmente in onda su Travel Channel.

"Being an empath, I have a gift for comforting people when they need it. Whether they were attacked by a spirit, affected by the energy of a haunted location, or saddened by the loss of a family member or friend, I feel that and can connect with them. This is why I created the show ‘Ghost Adventures: Aftershocks’, in which we invite people from past episodes to Las Vegas to update us on how they and their ghosts have fared since we paid them a visit. […] The paranormal is my life, and really listening to and helping people who have been affected by spirits is important to me. When I interview people, I connect with them as an empath. I can feel their emotions. I can calibrate my demeanor to match whatever way they’re projecting their experiences onto me. […] I’m just me. OUR THOUGHTS
"'Aftershocks' isn’t as successful as we wish, but we must understand that 'Ghost Adventures' is a high level show in comparison to others. The GAC guys work using their heart, putting 100% of themselves in these investigations, consciously accepting the consequences, for better and for worse. It’s true that the thrilling of a lockdown is priceless for the audience, but sometimes we must look beyond. Sometimes we must take those parts of an investigation that made it unique and consider them with the right point of view. Zak can proficiently do so, thanks to this spin-off of his successful tv series he finally has the chance to show himself for who he really is and not for who they want him to be. He doesn’t need to 'show-off', he doesn’t have the anxiety of providing evidences, he doesn’t need to feel the weight of responsibility of his own life and his friends’. He is simply there, sit in the half-light facing people who live the paranormal in the frontline like he does, trying to understand them in order to help them, himself and the audience. He exposes himself to share the knowledge of the paranormal, a topic that television, schools, science books, religious environments don’t really speak about. Zak pointed out on his books that the greatest evidence you can get during an investigation is always caught by your own feelings, something you unfortunately cannot produce as a proof. The paranormal is largely emotional and you must deal with it like that. 'Aftershocks' helps you with this. Go and try to find another show like it."

"'Aftershocks' non ha il grande successo che vorremmo avesse, ma bisogna capire che 'Ghost Adventures' è un programma impostato su un livello superiore rispetto ad altri. I ragazzi della GAC lavorano col cuore, ci mettono il 100% di loro stessi in questi indagini e ne subiscono le conseguenze, nel bene e nel male, consapevolmente. E’ vero che per gli spettatori l’emozione che provoca un lockdown è impagabile, ma a volte bisogna anche andare oltre. A volte bisogna riprendere gli elementi che hanno reso, in fin dei conti, unica quell’indagine, e rianalizzarli sotto la giusta luce. Zak è molto bravo a farlo, perché qui in questo spin-off della sua serie di successo ha finalmente la possibilità di mostrare se stesso per com’è e non solo per come gli altri si aspettano di vederlo. Non deve 'fare il figo', non ha l’ansia di dover produrre prove tecniche, non deve sentirsi addosso la responsabilità della propria vita e di quella dei suoi amici. E’ semplicemente lì, seduto in penombra di fronte a persone che vivono il paranormale in prima linea come lui, a cercare di capirle, di farle parlare per aiutare loro, se stesso e il pubblico che lo ascolta. Si mette completamente in gioco per diffondere al meglio la conoscenza del paranormale che, diciamocelo, non è di certo uno dei primi argomenti di cui si parla in televisione, a scuola, nei libri di scienza, in ambienti religiosi. Zak ha tenuto a precisare nei suoi libri che la più grande prova che si può ottenere in un'indagine delle loro è sempre dettata dalle proprie sensazioni, che purtroppo non si possono produrre come prova tecnica… il paranormale è così, in gran parte emozionale e va spesso affrontato in modo tale. Aftershocks' serve proprio a questo. Andatelo a trovare un altro programma sul paranormale che lo fa."
